they do not need to speak English to take the test.... the 1st half of the test written and it comes in many languages and the second half is actually doing nails... and you are not allowed to speak during that..... but i do know how you feel when they talk and you have no clue what they are saying. How can some nail technicians got their professional nails license when they are not even speak English?
what language are you speaking? How can some nail technicians got their professional nails license when they are not even speak English?
They give the test in their own language. They have an interpeter.
You are not even speak English either!
The tests are given in many languages....the result of not having an ';official language';.
I say to them, ';Please speak English.'; If they do not...then no tip at all. Sorry, but the Great Melting Pot is for Melting....Either join us or go back home.
Does it really matter as long as they are proficient at their job.
Oh I hate it when they talk to each other and laugh, I feel like they're talking about me or something! Freaks me out :l

How do i get my nails stronger?
my finger nails are always filimsy and break every two seconds i can never get them to grow, anny suggestions? How do i get my nails stronger?
Take GNC UltraNourishair vitamins. They really have helped with my nails! How do i get my nails stronger?
i'll be looking forward to see these answers because I have the same problem!
Take hair and nail vitamens.
Also if you put like a clear coat of nail polish on it might work.
You should either take multivitamins or eat a lot of fish for the omega 3 fatty acids . :D
Welcome to my world. :( Certain vitamins are great for your nails so take a multivitamin every day. Using any ol' clear nailpolish does NOT work - in fact, it will restrict your nails from breathing without giving benefit. My sister just introduced me to OPI's Nail Envy product. It is pricey but DEFINITELY worth it. I could feel the difference just putting it on. My nails felt stronger and it lasts a long time.
sally hansen, my great grandma has sworn by it and it's been passed down since her. it's amazing.

How can I grow my nails?
My nails are really short and i wanna grow them. Any tips???How can I grow my nails?
I know this sounds counter productive, but if you file them a bit everyday, the friction will cause your body to make them grow faster. I would also suggest that you buy a nail strengthener, so when they do grow, they won't break as easily! How can I grow my nails?
Nails are made out of keratin. I found that taking pre-natal vitamins helped me during my pregnancy. They have vitamins that say that they help, but I have not tried them. Keep them polished even if only clear, this helps me prevent chipping and peeling. Good Luck!
there are nail polishes made specifically for maximum nail growth, enhanced with vitamins, like sally hanson nail growth miracle. if you look at any drug store or walmart, they will have diff brands to choose from.
hair, skin, and nails vitamins from nutrilite they're like 15 bucks for 30 days all natural satisfaction guarantee.
do this i heard it helps if u tap your fingers on a dest or table top. it stimulates the blood in nail bed to grow.
dont cut them and keep them even if u want to grow them faster u know drink milk and water
Paint them, file them, keep them strong %26amp; you should be good.
Be patience (:
If you put them in water, the more chlorine the better!
They sell vitamins for nails at the store help them grow. Why is your name jenn o?
green tea clear nail polish it works really good for mine and u can buy it at any drugstore
wait
Don't cut them for a while
just dont cut or bite them

How to take off solar nails?
I had never had my nails done. I've had my nails for about two weeks but at work I do alot of work with my hands so my nails are beginning to come off so I wanna go ahead and take them off. I don't wanna have to pay some one to take them off so I would appreciate it if someone would tell me how I can do it myself. How to take off solar nails?
If you can get hold of pure acetone, use that. You can either put it in 2 bowls and soak your fingers in it until it dissolves... but beware this can take some time.
Or you can soak a cotton wool ball in it for each finger and place over the nail, then secure and cover the finger tip and cotton wool ball with tin foil. this helps to keep the heat in, speeding up the process. this should only take 20 mins at the most.
If you can heat up a towel to place over your hands whilst waiting, this will help even more. How to take off solar nails?
try soaking them in acetone polish remover. it should help to soften them to remove more easily without as much damage to the natural nail
SOAK THEM IN ACETONE FOR TEN MINUTESmakeup

How do i get my nails to be white at the ends?
i already drink lots of milk but they ar clear, how do i get them white at the ends naturally? How do i get my nails to be white at the ends?
get a bowl and some of the little lemon containers. Pour the lemon in the bowl and soak your nails in it. After they have dried naturally, wash your hands and use hand cream on your hands. It worked for me.How do i get my nails to be white at the ends?
They get pretty darn white %26amp; no you don't dilute it. It may take a week or two to work. Good luck and God Bless my friend
get a french manicure
They sell a pencil at the drugstore to apply under the nail tip, about two dollars. I've used it and it last throughout the day.
French tips. It's a manicure.
make sure you clean em out good and manicure them..or if you are going for the unnatural route i would say get fakes nails or color your nails white.
i dont know...i dont think they are suppose to be naturally super white any ways...my nail tips look like a frosted clear
you dont it is impossible...go get a french manicure.
No persons nails are paper white, usually you should add water to your diet as well decrease the amount of red meat if not eliminate it. Also put fruits and veggies in your diet i would say after a month you should notice a change in the color. Your nails are a product of the things in your body, nails are just dead cells.
go get your nails a French manicure.
I have found an awesome site to get free samples. I get all sorts of new products that haven鈥檛 even hit the market yet. It is kind of like a beta testing site for new products. They test everything from food to beauty samples to video games. Here is the site.

How do I ';unstain'; my nails?
I wore a dark, cheap nail polish and I used nail polish remover to take it off, but the color ended up staining my nails. It's been a day already, and it's still stained and ugly. Is there any way I can ';unstain'; them? I washed my hands several times and I went over my nails again with the remover...How do I ';unstain'; my nails?
Try soaking in lemon juice or a little bleach mixed with water in a bowl. Always wear some kind of primer before using a dark color on your nails.

How do you stop your nails from splitting?
Eat lots of protein. Try avoid using nail polish while growing them...this will make them weak. How do you stop your nails from splitting?
know it sounds weird but i rub my cuticle oil into my nails before bed each night and it really makes a difference. It moisturises them and stops them splittingHow do you stop your nails from splitting?
Fudge, has said what i was going to say. Also wear gloves when doing the washing up.
drink milk
They need strengthening - do you eat little or no diary products? Calcium, zinc and iron are needed for good nail and hair growth. The Sally Hanson nail range at chemists have a good range of nail strengthening products.
Hi,
you probably have a lack of vitamin A, calcium and protein in your diet. You can tell with ease if you have a protein deficiency as opaque white bands appear on the nails and they become very dry, thin and brittle to touch. Having to little vitamin A and protein slows down nail growth and a shortage of calcium causes dryness and brittleness causing your nails to split.
go to ';sallys'; beauty and pick up this nair repair called ';nail Life'; I am telling you to is wonderful
nail strengthener and green veggies works best for me
Whatever you do babe never put nail hardner on it makes them too hard and thats how thet chip and snap.
I have very long nails (1'; long) and have never used nail hardner once. Vaseline hand and nail care helps I have found its the best thing and always file your nails at least once a week.
Try dipping your nails in Milk, that would really help!
-your nails is probably lacking calcium.
Do it every twice a week or after you get a nail polish (if ever your getting your nails done)
hope it will help you
Cheerio =)

How can i get my nails to grow where they aren't so brittle?
My nails bend easy and crackHow can i get my nails to grow where they aren't so brittle?
Brittle nails are often the result of a lack of calcium so dose up on yoghurt, milk and cheese.
Also try using a hand cream that will strengthen your nails as well as a nail varnish that will grow your nails and strengthen them at the same time. Sally Hansen products are fantastic they helped me when I had the exact same problem. How can i get my nails to grow where they aren't so brittle?

How can you make your nails grow?
how can you make your nails grow longer. Like what are some simple tricks of the trade. Because when i get nervous i like to bite my nails. I don't' do it as much as i used to. But once my nails start to get kinda long i get nervous and then bye bye nails. Anyone have any tips? How can you make your nails grow?
Drink lots of milk. milk makes your hair grow and your nails grow. it helps me.How can you make your nails grow?
You can't really make your nails grow any faster than what they do. Their growth patterns, strengths, shapes, etc are genetic, so what you have is probably what you are stuck with.
You can take multivitamins, and, well, stop biting them.
My nails are very thin and brittle, and always have been.
So, my solution.. fake nails.
Keep them painted that will make you not want to bite them and also prenatal vitamins make them real strong.
Nothing will help if you bite them. If you can quit, vitamin E is good and also keeping them polished makes them stronger.
Drink lots of beer. If it does not work, you won't know it, and you will forget about biting your nails.
don't bite ur nails.
Hope that helps :)makeup

Are the glue-on fake nails okay to have?
Okay, here's my dilemma.
I'm not allowed to get my nails done in a salon because I've heard that it hurts, you can rip one of the fakes off and could cause bleeding, and ruins your natural nails.
However, I've seen really cute glue-on nails in Walgreens and Claire's, so I'm wondering if they will be okay to have.
The ones Claire's has are really cute, like French tips that are hot pink with a black strip painted on the bottom.
Will they still ruin my natural nails? I've heard of some incidents happening with those, such as green mold growing under natural nails, fungus, and natural nails never growing back normally.
If I get them, I may wear them for about 1 to 2 weeks. Is it safe?
Thanks! Are the glue-on fake nails okay to have?
The glue on the cheaper nails from Claire's and drug stores is not as strong as the glue on nails you get at a salon. It is true that professionally done nails can hurt, but only if you try to rip them off instead of using acetone remover. It is also true that they do ruin your nail. After wearing the fake nails, your real nails get thing, short and brittle until they grow out a little bit. The cheap nails (depending on the brand) will stay on for about a week. If you use the kind that sticks on with little pieces of tape, they don't last as long as the kind that you stick on with liquid glue. My experience with these has been good. They don't ruin your real nails and they don't need acetone remover to come off. I have never heard of fungus growing on them, but if you don't put the nails on properly and water gets in there and it stays damp, it could be a prime growing place for mold. But like I said, I have never heard of that happening. Cheaper nails are safer and the way to go if you have never had fake nails before.
Good Luck! Are the glue-on fake nails okay to have?
well, most likely it wont last for 1 to 2 weeks. fake nails that u buy tend to all fall off very quickly. i have wanted to try them but my mom says its a waste of money
They're much cheaper than the professionally done nails. I'm a non goth/emo guy and like to wear black nail polish sometimes. I've worn glue on nails and although they pull at your real nails a bit at first you get used to it. It's recommended you wear them no more than 10 days but you can re use them if you want. The only problem is that after a couple of re uses the glue builds up on the back, you can try scraping it off. I've always worn them square the way they came in the pack but recently have filed them down to more rounded. It feels a lot more natural and better that way without the corners.
Nail polish isn't good for your nails because it restricts the breathing, so maybe you imagine how bad fake nails are for you.
If you really want fake nails, just be careful to not snag or rip them, otherwise you'll be in for a lot of pain. Also, try to keep the fake-nail episodes to a minimum. With nail polish, wear a good quality base underneath the color to prevent any yellowing of the nails, and wear no polish every so often to let your nails breathe.
no no no. don't even do it because people can totally tell that you did it yourself. If i knew you i would totally take pity and do your nails. Last year (when i had more time) i would do my nails every week and it was awesome, they were so pretty!%26gt; BUT im going to say dont even get the stupid fake do-it-yourself ones its kind of cheap lookin if you know what i mean. Good luck tho!

What's the nail gel that goes over acrylic nails called?
Is it just called nail gel? And where can I get it?
It's the nail gel that makes acrylic nails all shiny...What's the nail gel that goes over acrylic nails called?
Are you talking about the topcoat? You can use that to make your nails shiny. Or, clear nail polish will do it as well. Same thing. I'm not aware of any other gel for your nails. I agree with that other answer that said the gel was from mixing the acrylic powder with the liquid. That forms a gel. Every time I have gotten gel nails, they used the acrylic powder mixed with liquid. Thats the gel they use on you when giving you gel nails. What's the nail gel that goes over acrylic nails called?

I want to know how often do you get your dog nails clipped and would I be cheaper buying a peticure.?
my dog is lab and shepard mixed and almost 6 months old.I want to know how often do you get your dog nails clipped and would I be cheaper buying a peticure.?
I do them every few weeks.
I wouldn't waste my money with the Peticure tool. It is just a normal dremel with a guard on it. You can go get an actual dremel tool at Target or Walmart for a lot cheaper.I want to know how often do you get your dog nails clipped and would I be cheaper buying a peticure.?
I recommend getting your dog nail ';grind'; instead of nail ';trim';, because it reduces the chance of cutting the dog's quick; which is very painful for them and then they might not want to ever get their nails done. Grinding it will also let their nails be smooth instead of sharp after its trimmed.
There are plenty of dremel you can order from $25-30 range and you should grind their nails every 2-3 weeks just to get your dog used to it.
Every couple of weeks - or whenever it sounds or looks like the nail is touching the floor. The nails should hover ABOVE the floor, but never touch.... or so my groomer says.
I use the Pedipaws (same as Peticure just different brand) and my dog seems to be fine with it (once i figured out how to get the fur away without taking too much time.) I personally find it much easier to use as you can use it more often than regular clippers (you can also round off jagged nails!)
But you HAVE to follow the instructions on how to get your dog used to it. You can't just jump right in and file away - filing is a new sensation for the dog and they need to get used to it slowly.
I clip my dog's nails about once every week and a half. It really just depends on how much time they spend outside running on a surface that helps keep them short. I wouldn't wait any longer than 2 weeks though.
I personally wouldn't pay a pet grooming place, as you need to get it done often and could cost a bit over time. Nail trimmers are usually only $5-10 at the local pet stores. Plus I find it's a good activity to spend time with your dog and a good bonding experience.
Once you've done it several times, your dog will get used to the procedure and could even enjoy it. Especially if they know they'll get a treat afterwards :)
Depending on the activity level of your dog and the rate at which the nail grows, I clip my dog's nails every week. I just do a little bit at a time since his nails are black and harder to see the quick. It is cheaper to do the clippings at home. You just need to purchase the trimmer or the tool of your choice. If you are unsure, have the vet or groomer show you once how to properly do it and with some practice, you will gain experience and confidence.
I use a nail grinder on my dog (oscar brand not peticure) and do his nails about once a week to keep from having to do a lot a once and just to smooth down any rough spots. Even if you only trim once a month at $10 a time a good nail grinder will pay for itself with in 6 months. A dremal or a professinal nail grinder will work just as well and likely be cheaper.
I have a lab also! Their nails get extremely long and fast! We are thinking about the same thing you are. And we've decided to buy a peticure because it wont hurt the dogs nerves in the nail. And even professionals can hurt your dogs nails. So the peticure is most deffinately better! And we clip our labs nails about every month or two months, depending on how long the nails are!
It depends if your dog walks on concrete on his walks. If he does than once a month. If he doesn't than twice a month.
You should just have someone do it for you because they cost $20 and you can hurt your dog if you cut too much in.
hi if you walk your dog for at least an hour a day you dont need to clip them as they wear down naturally and vets know when you dont walk your dog!

Am I really more likely to contract pinworms from biting my nails?
I have gnawed them all my life and never been infected.Am I really more likely to contract pinworms from biting my nails?
If you scratch your butt as well. YesAm I really more likely to contract pinworms from biting my nails?
yes. because the pinworms eggs are usually excreted by those who are infested with it thru excretion of fecal matter, and you know how one's poop travel and reach the soil(/ground). and if you did something by which you had contact with a soil thats infested with pinworm eggs, accidentally put your fingers (i.e. biting of ';dirty'; fingernails) then there's this big chance of you getting it. so better not bite it and just use a nail cutter.

Do pre natal vitamins do anything besides make ur hair and nails grow?
lyk make u gain weight or idk jst nething?
im not pregnant,
i asked this ? earlier and ppl freaked
im not really concerned about weight either i jst wanna know everything it does cuz i want my hair to grow fasterDo pre natal vitamins do anything besides make ur hair and nails grow?
No one freaked out at your last question... they just answered it, lol. Like I said before, they can't make you gain weight... they are only vitamins. Vitamins don't make you gain weight. It's not going to make your hair grow faster. It could make your hair stronger and healthier though, which could mean less breakage, so it would seem like it was growing faster, but taking a regular vitamin and eating a healthy diet will do the same thing. But if you want to get pre-natals go ahead. They won't do anything bad to you. They'll only benefit you. Except, be sure to eat plenty of fiber. Sometimes the extra iron in them can constipate you.Do pre natal vitamins do anything besides make ur hair and nails grow?
Prenatal vitamins DO NOT make your hair grow faster.
People get that idea because when women are pregnant they get certain hormones that make their hair grow more than non-pregnant women. Anyone who says their hair grew more with prenatal vitamins either had a vitamin deficiency to start with or they imagined it. Its a total myth sorry.
Also prenatal vitamins aren't really good for non pregnant women. They have too much of certain vitamins/minerals for someone who isn't pregnant so its not actually very healthy to take them. Just take a regular multivitamin and eat well. They won't make you gain weight (no vitamin will) but they can cause you health issues in the long run due to the excess vitamin intake.
Ummm no at least not that ive experienced. I took prenatal vitamins before i got pregnant and it really did help my hair and nails grow faster. I did not notice any side affects other then if i did not eat it with food i would get a stomach ache.

How do I stop my cat from chewing his new soft nails?
I wish I could help you, but from experience my cats and I hate those things.
They are a big irrritant to the cat and it is so much easier to get the cat to allow you to clip its nails, and do that once per month, then try to force it to wear those things. Not to mention what you go through trying to get them on. No worse than learning how to clip the cat nails with a pair of clippers.
Good Luck though. How do I stop my cat from chewing his new soft nails?
there is a spray called bitter end that contains capsaicin (what makes things spicy)
however, it did not work for my cat, an excessive licker.
you can also try hot sauce, preferably really spicy
or, if that doesnt work, an E-collar.How do I stop my cat from chewing his new soft nails?
theres chew guard sprays you can buy at your vet or petmart.

How should I get my nails done for Homecoming??!?
my dress is a ligth turquoise color what should i get done to my nails i was thinking about getting tips the same color as my dress. but im not sure. pleaseeeee answer.
thanks :]How should I get my nails done for Homecoming??!?
Get a French manicure. It always is nice and always in style. Match your dress to your jewelry, not your fingernails. It might be trendy now but you will cringe when you are about 30 looking at the picture. How should I get my nails done for Homecoming??!?
I wouldn't suggest getting tips the color of your dress. On a matter of personal opinion I think it is a little tacky.
I would just go with a classic french manicure and maybe they white rhinestones set if you want to be a bit more formal
not to mention that even if by chance turquoise tips look good, you won't want them the next day. If you go for the more classic look, you can leave the manicure on no matter what you wear the next day
I think you should get the tips done to match the dress, but then have your school colors swirled on the rest of the nail...:)

Hope that helps :)

Is it just called nail gel? And where can I get it?

Are you talking about the topcoat? You can use that to make your nails shiny. Or, clear nail polish will do it as well. Same thing. I'm not aware of any other gel for your nails.
Do it every twice a week or after you get a nail polish (if ever your getting your nails done)
hope it will help you
Cheerio =)

When cutting dog nails do I hold the nail clipper handle side up or down? Does it matter?
Sometimes the clipper just goes ';around'; the nail or doesn't work right. When cutting dog nails do I hold the nail clipper handle side up or down? Does it matter?
Usually there is a bend in the clippers that match the shape of the nails. Use that bend as your guide. I use the bend because I feel safest doing it that way but for my big dog's nails my fiance uses it sideways to get through the whole nail in one clip. When cutting dog nails do I hold the nail clipper handle side up or down? The handle should be held up,but be very careful.I clipped my dogs nail and he pulled from me and I cut to far.He was bleeding alot.I had to go buy this powder that stopped the bleeding instantly.I won't be doing that anymore.
For a good lesson on clipping your pet's nails, visit your vet and ask the technician for a quick lesson. They will usually charge a few bucks to clip the nails, but they will probably be happy to show you the safest, most effective, and most comfortable way for both you and for your dog. Some pet supply stores offer clipping too, and may be able to advise you. (Really, I think a hands-on example would be your best bet in this case!)
Please, don't do this, cause if you cut a Nerve, your dog can bleed to death. Let your Vet. do that.

What is your opinion on 14 year old girls getting fake nails?
It isn't any big deal. Lots of girls that age have them done. There are plenty of girls who are even younger that have them done, so it's really not anything major. What is your opinion on 14 year old girls getting fake nails?
Nothing wrong with it. But it's better if you can grow out your actual nails and make them pretty. Acrylic just wears down your real nails and makes them frail and weak. What is your opinion on 14 year old girls getting fake nails?
Not a big deal, acrylics are pretty!
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a>
Anyone feel free to answer mine!
It depends. Some fake nails look well done up and manicured making them look more real. Whereas some fake nails look really cheap.
I'm 14 and I just think its a bit of fun. Sometimes they look disgusting though. Too long and too square.
i think its cute
like when someone has them ill be like i need to get my done like that or they look so cool :D
too young...they should be playing with barbies still
Its cute, nothing to harm you! Have funmakeup

Can i tone my hair without gloves when i have fake nails on?
just curious because i do not have gloves. will it mess up my acryllics? Can i tone my hair without gloves when i have fake nails on?
I wouldnt suggest doing it. The dye could cause your irriations, not to mention burning. And Im assuming it would mess up your acryllics. Why dont you just go to the store and by a pack of gloves so you dont run into this issue again
Hope I helped %26lt;3Can i tone my hair without gloves when i have fake nails on?
Dont worry about the nails the hair dye will burn your skin and cause irritation. Don't tone it unless you have gloves.
But to answer your question....yes it probably will mess up your nails too.
it will dye your acryllics trust me
and you need to use gloves
you can get a chemical burn trust me
without using gloves.
been there done that
Use gloves! The color will stain your nails.
Not sure.
But do you really wanna risk it?
Acrylics aren't cheap.
At least not here.

Does anyone know how to increase the speed my hair and nails grow?
my hair is short and so are my nails so i was just wondering if anyone knows what to do to make them grow faster?
please and thank you(:Does anyone know how to increase the speed my hair and nails grow?
Take Vitamins B6 and B12 they increase hair and nail growth. Also keep the ends of your hair trimmed will make your hair healthier causing it to grow faster. And for your nails try a nail treatment, you can find them at and drug store.Does anyone know how to increase the speed my hair and nails grow?
I don't really know if this is going to help you or not but throughout the day I brush my hair. Every hour i brush my hair for like 4 minutes until the knotts are all out. Avoid using heat products such as straightening and curlinig and stuff like that. I wash my hair every other day. I will shower one night and use shampoo and condition it. The next night I will take a shower and just get my hair wet. As for the nails...avoid biting them off and drink milk for calcium. I heard they make nail polish that helps them grow longer faster but I'm not sure what it's called. look it up. I hope this helped a little(:
There aren't any magic pills or potions that will make your hair grow any faster than it does now. Normal healthy hair grows 1/4 to 1/2'; a month. It slows down in the winter and grows a little faster in the summer. You can try hair growth products, but you would be wasting your money. Have patience it will grow.
loll, i don't think that is possible.
Eat healthy, drink plenty of water, and excersize.
Or get Extensions/Fake nails. I wouldn't reccomend it
but whatever floats your boat :)
seeing as how both hair and nails are composed of proteins, i would say at simple foods packed with protein. Like Peanut butter.
you would have to eat a pretty big amount though...and vitamins would be just as good. Good Luck :)
Eat a lot of protein, peanuts, peanut butter, green vegetables, Protein supplement in a powder form you can mix with drinks, put on foods, salads, ect!
Find out the ingredients in prenatal vitamins. When I was pregnant, my otherwise thin, peeling fingernails were as good as if I had acrylics! A daily vitamin should help enough. Also gelatin for your nails is excellent!
Vitamins definitely help. Also on your hair make sure there are no dead ends or split ends and on your nails make sure they are clean. Also, some nail polish actually increases the rate of your nails growth.
prenatal vitamins or hair and nail vitamins,
i take prenatal vitamins and i think they work better than just the hair and nail ones, but either works fine
there is this vitiman pregnant women take called prenatal and it makes your hair skin nails healthy and grow
my hair dresser told me to take it to make my hair grow and sure enough!
prenatal vitamins help with both issues they will strengthen your nails and promote hair growth. Also try Know gelatin, just add it to your drink or mix it in with reg jello.
Take Biotin or other B vitamins. They help in fast and healthy nail and hair growth.
Protein will help but nails grow slow.
Vitamins. Keep the dead ends trimmed.
Just keep care of both of them so they don't break/become weak. There isn't a magic pill to make them grow faster...
vitamin e
eating eggs helps a lot because it has A LOT of vit. E in it.

HOW DO YOU PREVENT AIR BUBBLES WHEN YOU USE GLUE ON NAILS?
I usually get my nails done, but this time I didn't want to do acrylics and just wanted something temporary.
How do you preven the airbubbles when you glue the fake nail to your nail?HOW DO YOU PREVENT AIR BUBBLES WHEN YOU USE GLUE ON NAILS?
If you're using cheap glue it's going to be inevitable.

Is any body know how can we put fake nails on top of real nails with acrylic powder?
The adhesive glue is easier ,but i want to know to use it with acrylic powder, the way the nail beautition does it.
Please tell about tools that we need it to put nails. Is any body know how can we put fake nails on top of real nails with acrylic powder?
First you need the acrylic powder and liquid, you can get it at walmart, it usually comes with nails, file, and brush
Glue the nail tips on (only to the tips of your nails), cut them down with finger nail clippers, and file them to the shape you want.
lay a paper towel down so you can wipe your brush
dip the brush into the liquid, then make a little ball with the powder and spread it on your nail like finger nail polish, make sure you dont get any of it on your fingers, if you do, take it off quickly. Just repeat these steps with all your nails
After your finished take the file and run it over the nails to get out off the bumps. Dont file too hard though it will take off the acrylic.
If you want to there are little electric filers that you can use, but really you should be ok with just a regular stick file.
Good luck, this may take some time before you get them perfect....ive been doing nails for 5 years and it took me about 6mo before i finally had a perfect set!Is any body know how can we put fake nails on top of real nails with acrylic powder?
I have had that done at the nail shop before. Save yourself alot of frustration and make an appointment with a nail tech and relax.
no but where did you get the acrylic powder from?
I wouldn't try that yourself!!! That's a huge problem just waiting to happen! The people who put those kind of nails on have been trained and they know what they're doing. If you're not willing to have someone teach you, then I'd suggest that you don't use yourself as a Guinea pig!
I dont know how on that but I have heard and had experience with the glues and stuff and I have seen how thru time it destorys the nails and cant be fixed.
Avon now has fake nails and all you have to do is stick them on. no glue no paste and they dont come off.
Go to a professional -- if any bacteria gets between the fake ones and your real ones, it can cause permanent damage. Be careful. Otherwise, there are acrylic kits that come with instructions - go to a beauty supply store.
sorry but buy glue and put you nails on that way the GLUE WORKS BEST so sorry and u can put nails on with acrylic powder
Not only should you go to a professional to have this done, but you should NEVER EVER attempt to play with acrylic %26amp; bonding solution or glue if you havent been trained!
Im a nail tech %26amp; doing my own nails is still hard for me, let alone you , who has no training or practice what so ever. You can really do damage to your nails %26amp; let's not forget that these are chemicals!!! Save your self the hassel of your nails looking like crap after you've attempted to do them - see a nail tech!
Hey girly take it easy with the chemicals you don't know how to use. I am a licensed manicurist and I had to go to school to learn how to use them. You need to go to a salon and pay someone, the stuff you need to apply acrylic properly is not available to just anyone you have to go to a beauty supply. And most often you need a license to even go inside. So PLEASE DON'T try to do this yourself. Save $40 and find someone to do them for you.
P.S. you don't use glue with the powder DO NOT MIX THEM :(

What is the best way to get a lot of nails out of the grass?
A strong magnet, inserted into a can, or sock. (so you can easily release the grip to dump off the nails)
If the nails are aluminum I'd use a shop vac. What is the best way to get a lot of nails out of the grass?
I don鈥檛 know the name of the piece of equipment but contractors use it to remove nails from construction sites. It has two wheels on both sides of it and a long magnet in between the wheels. The magnet is about 3 inches wide and 2 feet long. I think it鈥檚 called a magnetic nail remover. What is the best way to get a lot of nails out of the grass?
big magnet or metel detector
A big magnet. Wal Mart has one you tie to a rope for about $10.
A magnet maybe?
all the answers are good and in my opinion the only ones.

A set of 10 thimbles?
Aside from it being a little gross it's not actually hurting anyone.
get a friend to tie boxing gloves on you hands but make sure they are good enough friends to untie them when necessary.
You ask!!! I should ask the same.
Don't use toliet paper, just use your fingers. Guaranteed not to fail.
put chili powder on them
occupy urself with something else like a hobbie.,,,,,,
put aloe on it dude. or chew on a tooth pic, or straw.....are find a favorite gum and chew on that
My sister used to do this--her therapist said it was a sign of perfectionism, if that helps any. She quit by concentrating on one (two) fingers at a time. She would not allow herself to bite her pinkies until they grew in, then her ring fingers, and so on, until she didn't allow herself to bite her thumbs. While ';pampering'; her pinkies, ringer fingers, etc., she would put clear nail polish on them to make them less ';irresistable'; she said. Basically ';weaned'; herself one finger at a time. Hope this works for you! :)
sit on your hands
Have you try to keep your mouth occupy? Like chowing gum or something
gross.... stop being so gross? that might work.... friggin sick dude.... i threw up in my mouth a little bit when i read that. your addicted to that worst habit on the face of this earth.

Well usually I tell girls to get acrylic nails...that might not work here.
ACRYLIC NAILS. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF DIFFERENT NAMES FOR THEM. YOU CAN GET ONES THAT LOOK NATURAL. YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE THEM LONG, OR POLISHED, OR WITH WHITE TIPS.

Is it true hat nails and hair can grow after death?
While in the military we where always told that this was true but my wifes cosmetology book differs in opinion. Please clarify...Is it true hat nails and hair can grow after death?
It is true because the body feeds off of the extra protein that is still left in the body.Is it true hat nails and hair can grow after death?
im not sure about the nails part, but hair...yes!
No, the skin loses moisture and shrinks back revealing more of the nail bed and hair shaft making it appear that hair and nails have grown after death. It is a common misconception.
yes i'm not sure about the nails but yes the hair for sure!!=)

What is the best website on how to polish your nails?
i wanna know how to do french nail and etcWhat is the best website on how to polish your nails?
Here are two links, one for information regarding a french nail manicure, the other for some great products to use when doing a french nail manicure. The lady who does my nails swears by the second link (for products) and the OPI products have done a terrific job of keeping my nails long and healthy.
Good luck and take care.

What's the difference and what's better having false nails done in the salon or at home from the shop?
In my opinion... shops are better. you go to relax and have your own time. plus some places do amazing jobs. What's the difference and what's better having false nails done in the salon or at home from the shop?
when you go to an salon you get your nails done, they are suppose to let your nails grow . so you have to get them done so often and spend lots off money especially when they fall of . but there are false nails that do the same thing now, if the false nails falls of you just glue it back on unlike the other nails. much cheaper. and if you dont like the length you can shorten it your self. What's the difference and what's better having false nails done in the salon or at home from the shop?
Usually, when u go 2 a nail salon they will put a tip on then put acrylic over the top so they are strong, these nails last longer beacuse the ones you buy from shops with nail glue etc. only last a few days as they're plastic. thing is, the ones in salons can leave ridges in your nails if they aren't taken off properly. so its up 2 u dependin how long u want them 2 last :):)

How do you stop a person from biting on thier nails and skin?
(i know it sounds weird but plz help me out) PLZ!!How do you stop a person from biting on thier nails and skin?
Put the hottest hot sauce you can find on their nails. Dumb *** sauce should work pretty well.
http://www.asskickin.com/product61.html
Be careful to only get it only the top of the nails so they don't get it in their eyes by rubbing.
Good luck
Remember milk, high fat ice cream, etc will take the sting away. How do you stop a person from biting on thier nails and skin?
I have been in the medical field for a very long time. I am required to attend seminars on all kinds of things. One of these things is hygene. You will need to do the research yourself, but all I will say is that if you knew what was under the finger nail and around the cuticle this person will never again bite their finger nails.
It is worse than that toe nail fungus commercial.
good luck
I wish I knew I have tried everything If I put the gross stuff on my nails I just wash it off and chew chew... it's sssoo gross!
anyhow if you do find something that works let me know
thanks
Wear gloves
They should cover their body and nails with some kind of stinky lotion such as all of those body and hand lotions with a list of chemicals longer than john holms' thingamaling. The taste of these hand and body lotions will sicken the normal being.
I bit my nails for years and then I just decided to stop for no reason other than my nails looked really gross. there's a product called ';No Bite'; that they sell in the salon nail care section in pharmacies. you paint it on your nails and cuticles and it tastes really nasty, so when you try to bite, it makes you stop. give it a try.
I need answer to this one too.
TELL A PERSON THAT YOU LOVE TO SLAP YOU IN THE FACE EVERYTIME THEY SEE YOU DO IT. FOR ADULTS
FOR CHILDREN. GO TO A DRUG STORE AND ASK THEM FOR NAIL BITING SOLUTIONS
BUT I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SKIN BITING
put peper on the finger that works realy well or rub chilly on them
gloves all work
Fall in love with someone who hates it. You'll stop at once.
buy ';stop and grow'; it's in the nail polish remover section of the drug store. It tastes bad and after awhile your habit stops. I know I used to bite my nails and now I've kick that habit, now I get manicures.
dip there finger in finger nail polish and let it dry!
if you put something that tastes very gross on there hands often. like some kind of lotion or something that might help. ????
If it's your child, you could try tobasco sauce (something spicy and hot).
i had that habit and my mom had me put fake nails with acrylic on top and it worked!!!

How much will it cost for me to have false nails and silk wraps?
i know that different salons have different prices, but how much roughly?
also, i know that you have the have them maintained..how often would this have to be done and how much does this cost each time?
any help is appriciated, thanks xHow much will it cost for me to have false nails and silk wraps?
25-40 roughly, the place that I go it's 35 but it totally depends where you go. [(for the first time)] I pay $15 for the refills. %26amp; usually I go in every two weeks. Just a notice; when you take them off they make your nails really thin %26amp; weak. Also, you could get fungus if water gets trapped in between your nail %26amp; the acrylic. Hope you enjoy though; the look is worth it (:

Home remedies to help nails grow faster?
Are there any home remedies to helps nails grow faster?
Thanks answerers. [:Home remedies to help nails grow faster?
Take a Hair/Nail/Skin Formula that includes GELATIN in it.
Or,if you can not easily find one, then you simply take a DAILY MULTI VITAMIN and find a GELATIN SUPPLEMENT to take daily in addition to the Multi. You can find Gelatin at Mejers for under 10$ in pill form.
Omega 3,6,%26amp;9 Complex is also wonderful for the nails(and your overall health!).
Aside from that, just make sure you are eating a high protein diet(lots of meat, fish, eggs, milk, nuts, ect).
It's all about the diet/vitamins/supplements(just like with your hair).
Note: Gelatin is still ';up in the air'; as to it's use as a protein for nail growth/health,many swear by it,however many experts say it's useless,I thought it only fair to add that:-)Home remedies to help nails grow faster?
If you take Perma-Guard diatomaceous earth, your nails will grow faster, and they will be stronger. Just Google Perma-Guard diatomaceous earth and you will find places to purchase it from. The really nice thing is that the diatomaceous earth is cheap. Only use the Perma-Guard brand, this is the only safe diatomaceous earth.
Simply eating a balanced diet and taking a multi-vitamin. There really is nothing else you can do for your hair/nails. Eat healthy and good hygiene.

What kind of foods could i eat to make my nails grow faster?
Within 3 months, you will have STRONG nails by drinking ';Nature's Plus'; Energy Supplements
';Spiru-Tein Soy Protein Powder';
Which is a High Protein Energy Meal Drink.
GNC carries this product 2.4 lbs. $33.25 Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry.
I enjoy the Vanilla flavor which I can mix blueberries, strawberries in a blender, makes a great morning drink an hour before you eat your normal breakfast.
100% on all the essential vitamins. My nails are so strong, amazing~ try it, you might like it.What kind of foods could i eat to make my nails grow faster?
nails are what people usually eat.
thats quite ironicWhat kind of foods could i eat to make my nails grow faster?
You have to eat a lot of foods with dairy. Calcium always make your nails grow. If you're lactose intolerant ,then, try and get some calcium pills.
Get some zinc supplements its great for skin ,hair and nails.
i don't know about food although i have heard about jell-o. just take multivitamins and vitamin C and E.
Typically lots of calcium can help that, but I would go to GNC and ask if they'd have any suppliments you can take if you don't wanna chug milk everyday!
As far as food: Jell-o.
But if you don't want to eat tons of Jell-o every day, you can also get Gelatin Supplement pills at Longs Drug or GNC.
My mom says that Jello makes your hair and nails strong. I don't know how true it is, tho.

When is Nine Inch Nails Year Zero Pt II Album set to release?

Year Zero 2 might not even come out with the news of NIN possibly ending in the future and Trent going away for a while with a new marriage. You're more likely to see the TV series first than Year Zero 2.

i wouldn't say its bad but its not good either they may be flimsy if you take them off

That's sweet, tell him to bugger offMy 10yr old daughter sometimes paints her 3yr old sisters nails, my ex says this is harmful and i should stop.
i dont see nothing wrong is so cute that they are getting along why would you want to breck that? your husband must be like 40 or 50 year brain talk to him and let him know that's theirs nothing wrong. My 10yr old daughter sometimes paints her 3yr old sisters nails, my ex says this is harmful and i should stop.
In these times where litigation is rife, the nail varnish company would plaster warnings all over the bottles if it were at all harmful, IMHO.
Um why would there be anything wrong with that? Is your daughter not allowd to intearct with anyone?
lol men! they have such stupid ideas
my oldest sons father said buying him a toy hoover when he was a toddler would turn him gay,he also said if I use lip seal on his dry lips when his older he will like lipstick, basically ignore him,I think its great your little girls play nicely together.
its not harmful, but check she is not chewing her nails and digesting the polish
it's all part of fun and play.
What is harmful is not painting the nails but leaving the paint there for days. It's fine for a little girl to wear nail polish for the day, but next day it needs to come off. Her little nails need air to breathe and grow.
I knew of a girl back in high school that kept her nails painted all the time and one day when she came to school her nails were polish-free and yuck were they nasty! She was told by a doctor not to wear polish for 3 months because it was doing damage to her nails.
Is he mildly retarded? That's not harmful.
Hii
Acquarella nail polish is the answer. It is odeoless, non-toxic, water based (so its easy to remove) so children can play safely with it. How ever it can take a while to dry!!
Hope it helps ;D

I don't think it is .. Unless she attempts to eat it something .. have triplet cousins (all girls ) and when they were really little my aunt used to paint each one of there pinky's a different color so that she could tell the difference between them .. They are fine ..
sounds like a control freak to me.... there is nothing wrong with an older sister painting her younger sister nails... i have no idea in 3 years of psych how that could be damaging to a pediatric mind...
that makes me quite pissed off that hed need to even control a bonding experience like that :(
thats..stupid. let her get her nails painted. no harm!
no its not how could it be harmful
as long as the three year old is happy for her sister to do this to her its fine! great bonding time between sisters - i used to do my little sisters hair make-up nails and dress them up! the younger one will feel more grown up and the older one has some one to be creative with! let them use their imagination and buy them some face paints!
Your ex is lying his *** off
the thing about nail polish is that it can cause some types of cancer because of the fumes that you can smell when you open the bottle and paint you nails. Its basiclly that odar that you definatly smell. and if your daughter is exposed to the fumes for more than 30 minutes per week than damage is also being done to the brain. Thats all that i really know but im sure that if you search on yahoo ';is nail polish harmful?'; that you will get more detailed answers.
you can buy nail varnish for children
Your ex sounds like a right idiot.
Its ok if shes not licking it off.
how is it harmful never heard that before for girls not to paint there nails I grow up with 6 girls in the house they all painted there nails from the time they where 1 years old there all fine and doing great so I dont see how it would be hurmful
its fine if she doesn't eat it off her nails..
It sounds like he is being controlling for the sake of it. I would be wary about his 'advice' on other issues too - what is the motivation behind it.
Wow, sounds like an overreaction on his part. I don't find it in anyway harmful (unless she is drinking the nail polish ! ha). Sounds like a fun way for sisters to bond. Many men don't understand our little indulgences and why we girls like a bit of pampering at any age. He doesn't get it and probably feels ';shut out'; from the female portion of his family and is reacting accordingly.
I had to edit ';men'; to ';many men'; as jbmaster just masterfully reminded me that I was overgeneralizing and lots of men do understand women amazingly !!
It's not harmful for a 3 year old. Your ex worries way too much.
no it isnt
Get her some of that kids nail varnish it peels off and its totally harmless i think you can get it from most toy shops. I remember when i first had my REAL nail varnish i was about 9 i think and my mum painted my nails i was so chuffed!
the only thing thats harmful is your 10 year old daughter

What is a quick way to remove glue from acrylic nails off your fingernails? HELP!?
hi ... i went to a formal dance and put on really cheap acrylic nails and how do i get the glue off? would nail polish remover do the job? What is a quick way to remove glue from acrylic nails off your fingernails? HELP!?
Go to the store and buy some Acetone.
It's available next to nailpolish remover. Acetone is the active ingredient in polish remover - so buying pure acetone makes life infinitely easier for getting nails off. Just soak them in the acetone before trying to remove them (minimizes damage to your nail.)What is a quick way to remove glue from acrylic nails off your fingernails? HELP!?
I am studying beauty therapy at the moment. You should buff your nails to remove the glue. You can buy buffing paste and a chamois buffer and just buff the nail straight and towards the tip. Hope this helps.
nail polish remover would just make a huge mess. soak your hands in warm water for about 5 minutes and they should come off easily and some may even fall off in the water.

How do i avoid those annoying bubbles after doing my nails?
i like doing my own nails and when im done with my design and its completely dry i use sally hansen's no chip acrylic top coat. It looks great but as soon as it is completely dry i have those nasty looking bubbles, and i roll my polish before using it instead of shaking it.How do i avoid those annoying bubbles after doing my nails?
using a new brush that is sold separately could work,
maybe your applying too much at once,
if you do thin coats,
multiple times it should work out good. How do i avoid those annoying bubbles after doing my nails?

Can I soak my nails in polish remover or something else?
I have a good 3 layers or more of dark nail polish on my fingernails that is starting to chip so I want to get rid of it but have already used up a bunch of cotton balls and barely gotten any off so far! Can I soak my fingers in a bowl of polish remover to help the process? Or is there another product I could try to aid in removing the polish? Can I soak my nails in polish remover or something else?
dont use that nail polish again...
try to avoid soaking your fingers in remover because that can seriously damage your nails and dry them out - if you end up doing it, after you do it don't polish your nails for a few weeks, and every day for those few weeks cream your hands and nails, and apply excess vaseline (petroleum jelly) to each nail every day, smoothing in one direction
if you have the money go to a manicurist and get their adviceCan I soak my nails in polish remover or something else?
There is a product called Orly Slip It Off, it's 3.38 oz and runs around $3-5 dollars at drug and salon stores
they have this round jar of polish remover with a soaked foam piece inside that you rub your nails on. it works really well!
answer mine too(:

I remove hard skin on my feet by soaking them in shampoo water. If you plug the drain while you shower and shampoo your hair, your feet will get the benefit of the shampoo. It softens the hard skin and the skin can then be scraped off with your fingernails. Is it normal to have hard skin by your toe nails? How can i get rid of it?

nails are what people usually eat.
thats quite ironicWhat kind of foods could i eat to make my nails grow faster?
I don't know how true it is, tho.makeup

Sure it can be harmful. What do little children do with their fingers? They put them in their mouth a lot. Plus, a 3 year old does not need painted nails.

Should I paint my nails for my senior portrait, or should I leave them unpainted?
I'm thinking of wearing two dresses. Two of them will be blue, aqua, green, or pink. (If I should paint my nails, what color should I paint them? It would have to be a color that would match my dress no matter what color I go with.)Should I paint my nails for my senior portrait, or should I leave them unpainted?
I'd go with something subtle such as french manicure if you go with the blue or green dresses or a light pink if you choose the pink dress but I'd paint them something even clear nail polish helps it makes your nails shiny and healthier looking. I think french manicure would look the best on a senior portrait.Should I paint my nails for my senior portrait, or should I leave them unpainted?
Senior Portraits are kind of like wedding pictures, you want them to be classy and timeless. You don't want to look back 10 years from now and be like ';What was I thinking?';
Most of all you don't want your nails to be a distraction, which they will be if you don't pick a neutral color.
I like Essie's Ballet Slippers. It's a very pale pink so it goes with everything. I think you should worry less about the color and just make sure your cuticles look good, your nails are even and clean and that you have a top coat on.
Depends. If you want to be remembered as a vivacious tramp, try fire engine red. If you want to be remembered as a dour goth, try black.
Just do white french tips you can't go wrong with that
white, pale pink just do something natural
Try a french manicure:)

Is it normal to have hard skin by your toe nails? How can i get rid of it?
lotion and pedicuresIs it normal to have hard skin by your toe nails? How can i get rid of it?

I remove hard skin on my feet by soaking them in shampoo water. If you plug the drain while you shower and shampoo your hair, your feet will get the benefit of the shampoo. It softens the hard skin and the skin can then be scraped off with your fingernails.
While taking a warm/hot bath or shower, use a Pumice Stone: This course, granulated stone is the ideal beauty tool for dry feet. They are available in a variety of sizes and shapes, and several are attached to a handheld wand for ease of use.

What is a good way to take fake nails off without damaging real nails that bad?
I think most of the damage from fake nails is due to the filing and buffing off the top layers of the nail to make sure that the fake nail adheres well. Soaking the fake nails in an acetone based nail polish remover is the only way of removing fake nails at home that I know of. If you are interested in healthy natural nails, check out askcosmetics.com about a product named TIPS.What is a good way to take fake nails off without damaging real nails that bad?
soak them in acetone nailpolish.. then use cuticle cream or oil on your nails..What is a good way to take fake nails off without damaging real nails that bad?
I would suggest soaking them in acetone until they either fall off or get soft enough for you to take them off without straining your real nails. If you can't get a manicure from a professional you should use a cuticle cream of some sort and buff your nails to get rid of the lines from the false nails.
if soaking them in acetone does not work go to the nail salon! Leave it to the professionals!
You can soak them in acetone. or have a professional clip them off and then buff out your nails.
soak your fingers in hot water
Soak them in acetone until they disolve.
first you must soak them in acetone.. but that's a bit harsh on your fingers. what i recommend is that you use a cuticle oil that you can pretty much purchase at a beauty store..
after leaving your nails in the acetone for about 10-15 minutes, you must FILE the nails down.. as in BUFF that nail down so that it's thin.
after doing so, clip the nails so that it's short.
now you can grab something pointy or really thin and push it in between the nail and acrylic/gel/powder.
don't try to pull the acrylic/gel/powder off as this may cause tearing. :T
acrylic is what kills the nails the most. it's the cheapest product of nail salons out there regardless what brand they use.
i recommend gel because it lasts longer and doesn't do as much damage like acrylics would. don't get me wrong, they'll still kill your nails.. but not as much. lol
pink and white is also the best. it's pretty much like the gel, but with a more natural look. :)
acetones no good. It will wear down your nails and make them brittle.

Can I soak my nails in polish remover or something else?
dont use that nail polish again...
try to avoid soaking your fingers in remover because that can seriously damage your nails and dry them out - if you end up doing it, after you do it don't polish your nails for a few weeks, and every day for those few weeks cream your hands and nails, and apply excess vaseline (petroleum jelly) to each nail every day, smoothing in one direction
if you have the money go to a manicurist and get their adviceCan I soak my nails in polish remover or something else?
they have this round jar of polish remover with a soaked foam piece inside that you rub your nails on. it works really well!
answer mine too(:

I have a interview next week, Is making nails important or natural short nails look fine?
Do I need to make my nails if for an interview? Does the interviewer pays attention are my nails made or not. I have natural nails and they are very short and look fine and have never went to nails saloon?
So please suggest, I appreciate it.I have a interview next week, Is making nails important or natural short nails look fine?
As long as your nails are neat and tidy, there is no problem. If they are all evenly trimmed then it isn't a problem. The only reason you may need to do your nails is if you were interviewer for, say, a hairdressers position, a beautician or something that relies heavily on personal image. A good interviewer won't judge you (as long as you look presentable!).I have a interview next week, Is making nails important or natural short nails look fine?
I would keep them natural and short
keep the short nails! fakes are tacky and out dated. just use some neutral color or clear polish. good luck on the interview
Short, clean, clear or no nailpolish.
Well i think you should just keep then Nautral because i think the interviewer will like you for who you not what you look like because i think it does not matter but thats just a guess
I think it matters what type of job. If it's a job where you do a lot of work go natural and short. If it's a job where you need to keep up a good apperance paint them.
if you are serious about the job then you must do your nails in order to look well groomed and presented. Please do you hair and make - up well too!!
Just make sure they are not too long or painted in bright, loud colors. Keep it groomed and kept clean. Employers just want to know that you are not a slob or too wild.
Good luck with your interview!
If you're nails are clean and trimmed then that should be fine. If you want to style them then don't go with anything more than a french manicure (don't do it yourself, get a pro). Well groomed natural nails will look better in an interview than some wild nails anyway.

Is there anything that would help a great danes nails from chipping/cracking?
Some causes of chipping/cracking nails... trimming to often, trimming incorrectly, type of surface the dog walks on,keeping too long or to short, wrong type of trimmer, genetic predisposition, nail color, gait,....
I already know that you feed a high quality food from your other post so it isn't lack of nutrition/vitamins/minerals.Is there anything that would help a great danes nails from chipping/cracking?
When a dog's nails are kept long, they are susceptible to chipping, splitting and cracking. Trim the dogs nails and possible more raod walking ( naturally keeps them short) although that's not a guarantee that the nails will be healthy.
The herb calendula reduces inflammation and helps damaged nails heal. Combine it in an herbal rinse with St. John's Wort, which reduces swelling and helps kill bacteria and fungi.Combine 1 tsp. of each tincture in 1/4 cup of water, rinsing the nails and nail beds once a day.
Use fatty acids in the dog's diet. Giving your pet fatty acids will reduct inflammation and boost his immune system. Also give the dog Zinc.Is there anything that would help a great danes nails from chipping/cracking?
my choc lab has that problem. the vet put her on gelatin capsules to treat the nails. then i have to apply crazy glue like nail polish about once a week to hold them together.
your local groomer has some stuff you can get it like lotion but you put them on the nails....call around vets might have it.
change your food will help, its all in what the dog eats.
i clip my dogs every 3 or 4 months, don't clip for nothing, it's not good.
What are you feeding her? Maybe you should try another brand of food with better ingredients. Food can make a big difference in a dogs nails and over all health
are they really long? if so try clipping or as i prefer dremeling their nails. or you can file them too.

Is it normal for a child to eat her nails ?
I have a 10 year old daughter who use to eat her nails,i dont know what to do for her stop it,I keep on telling her that it's not normal for a child to eat nails,I even told her that she might eat the bacteria her nails have.Is it normal for a child to eat her nails ?
Give her the Homeopathic Remedy CALCAREA CARB 30 thrice a day half hour before meals and she will get over her habit of biting her nails. Nail biting is usually attributed to a deficiency of Calcium which Calcarea carb will cure without any side effects or complications.
Take Care and God Bless you !Is it normal for a child to eat her nails ?

A child either Does it by habit or by nervousness. Either way its something thats not healthy so the best way to get your child from doing un healthy things is to train them with love concern and when things are taught that way most of the time the child is reseptive to the love from their parents. Build on your beautiful relationship, Vernon
Its normal, but heres how you stop it- when she's asleep, put clear fingernail polish on her nails. She goes to Chomp and she goes to UpChuck
Well, first off, i wouldn't be to concerned about the bacteria thing, if she has bacteria on her nails she will get it without even eating her nails (from eating, touching face, etc...) so don't worry about that. Also, i dont' think there is nesscarily anything terribly wrong with it. I think it's just a habit she has made, maybe to comfort herself, like twiddling her hair or sucking her thumb. You wouldn't want it to continue for to terribly wrong, but in and of itself it isn't that bad of a thing. If you are really worried though i would suggest asking a licsensed psychologist. Good luck!
people bites finger nails while they feel nervous?! Or is she imitating someone she had seem on TV or just following a friend?
yeah, could be a good idea to polish her nails with some beautiful colors and try to let her appreciate her nails
It is not normal but it's also not unusual. You could rub your daughter's nails with hot chilli juice. I know it's cruel but she will thank you for it as a teenager.
I bite my nails, but i heard there is some kind of disease that you could get,but I stil do it,it's just to hard to stop!So ya,I think it's OK,Good luck!
i used to bite my nails because a lot of people i knew were doing the same, but i've never heard of eating nails. just think, she's putting calcium in her body. Forget about it because she's just a kid and she'll eventually grow out of that stage.
I used to bite my nails and eat them when I was that age. My mom bought me clear nail polish from Sally Hansen called Nail Biters. It tasted awful, it made me stop biting my nails.
Good Heavens, kids eat everything except the things we tell them are good for them, soooo, perhaps telling her in the morning you did some research and found that it is wonderful that she's doing this..it's supplying some wonderful nutrient to make her appear beautiful to boys!! That reverse psychology thing.. LOL....I wouldn't worry too much...as long as she has good hand washing habits, hopefully she'll grow tired of it. Good Luck....By the way....the yuckky tasting nail polish really never worked for me...if they even still sell the stuff..I just outgrew the habit, I guess.

Are there any products i can use to put shelves and pictures up without screws or nails (UK)?
i live in a rented flat and dont want to make holes in the walls, ive seen an advert on tv for something that sticks on to the wall, and comes off without leaving a mark, but i cant remember what its called. Are there any products i can use to put shelves and pictures up without screws or nails (UK)?
3M Removable Utility Hooks with Command鈩?Adhesive are what you seem to be seeking, the hercules hooks still make a hole, best way will always be nails or screws and anchors. I've rented and if the walls are flat white you can easily fill/hide the holes from nails and picture hangers with lightweight plaster and your finger. Shelves almost have to be installed with screws and/or anchors as they need the strength and dependability. Any adhesives are going to ruin paint and finishes when removed, but do offer a fastener free application. Are there any products i can use to put shelves and pictures up without screws or nails (UK)?
If you imagine how much weight a shelf has to carry, I don't think you're likely to find anything that doesn't leave a hole. It's just a case of how big the hole will be and whether you can hide it.
When people rent you a flat, they can't expect you not to leave some sort of holes in the wall. As long as you fill them when you move, they can't complain.
Hi.
Pictures YES.
Shelves. NO
There are various picture hooks now that do not show when they are removed. Some are a combination of very small pins, which you can tap in with a light weight hammer and which are quite strong, through to something as simple as blu-tack.
Shelves is a bit more difficult. Simplest is to buy a free standing 'bookcase' type unit. You can take it with you easily to the next flat. Buy a reasonable one pine bookcase, not the cheapest, and you'll have it for life. Believe me, they are never out of use. If you can't use it in your house when you are older, you'll use it in a garage.
Take care.
Just a comment about 'No More Nails' which is being widely recommended to you. This IS a very good product - BUT - it is only as good as what you are sticking it to! We stuck Dado rails onto an emulsioned wall at work as a guide for a blind chap. What we did not know was that the Vinyl emulsion on the walls had been painted over Gloss paint. the Dado's came down quite quickly, complete with a strip of the emulsion coat they were stuck to!
As it is a fiver or so a tube any way, I would be more inclined to buy a cheap flat pack free standing shelving unit.
Use - NO MORE NAILS. When this is applied correctly and with a bit of forethought, it virtually sticks anything to anything.
You could sand it off after you no longer need it, then emulsion over the dry marks.
That was for hanging pictures, not putting up shelves!
Edit:
Yes, I can read, which is why I said the product that you recall is for hanging pictures, not putting up shelves! *sigh*
Most DIY shops sell stick-on picture hooks. They stick to painted walls or vinyl wallcovering. Don't use them on papered walls or your pictures will fall off and tear the paper.
Floor standing shelves. Those products advertised are brilliant as long as you don't put anything on those shelves.
My friend had hooks with double sided tape that had this cool tab you pulled when you want to remove them and it takes away any trace of it. No idea what they're called.
Jedi Knight's got it right- the product you'd have saw advertised on TV is called 'No More Nails'. It's one of those 'that does exactly as it says on the tin'!
Glue or adhesive like ';No More Nails';
If using it don't put anything heavy on the shelves.
Yes, I use hercuhooks and they are great. They look like a long curved hook and hold quite well. And, they only leave a pin size hole in your wall.
no nails it comes in a tube and you can buy it in most hardware shops and DIY outlets. lol
