I started wearing contacts a while ago, when i still had short nails- But recently, I've let them grow out, and my contacts have been ripping. I've ripped at least 3 pairs this last month.
Im usually really really careful when putting them in and taking out, but they still rip somehow.
Do you guys leave your nails long, or do you keep them short?

I've been wearing contacts for years and I have always had to keep my nails short. Its hard but you can figure out how to do it without ripping them because I have had my nails professionally done about 4 times since I started wearing my contacts and I only ripped them once. So you just have to be incrediably careful. Really tho, I don't think its that safe to have your long nails that close to your eyeball lol.

Going to get my nails done, any creative ideas?
I am getting a manicure done before school, and I really want to do something cool with my nails. I don't want artificial nails, my nails right now are normal length.

well if you're just going to get a normal maicure done it won't last long i wouldn't hassle too much about it.
french manicure is always best if it's done normally and on short nails...
if they wer long i would have suggested pink with cob web design black tips...
you can put a tiny stone on your ring fingers, on edge between pink and white, they look pretty

In general guys could not care less about your nails. Most guys will scarcely notice that you have nails at all, much less whether they are painted, sculpted, fake, or whatever else you gals decide to do to them.
I think they're cool and ofcourse I'm a guy.

If they are done by a professional. It really depends more on if it is a special occasion, like a wedding or just to have them. As long as they are painted nicely, that is a big plus.

I think they are cool. They are like any other accessory that helps make you look nice and feel better about yourself. I would rather hold hands with a girl that has nice fingernails than a girl that chews her real nails off. It just looks classy.
I have acrylic nails that don't look fake because my manicurist is the Goddess of Nails...if you bought Lee Press On Nails, take em back! Those don't look cool on anybody. If you want long nails, take good care of them. Make sure you get manicures and keep them clean and polished. Polish helps them from breaking too. That is a better choice to plastic nails that come off when you run your fingers through someone's hair.

yeah i always have this problem, the ones meant 4 my ring finger fit my thumb and so on...... yes you can most definatly file them down however it does take years and so i used 2 just despare. however if you invest in an electrical nail file , it doesnt have to b an expensive top of the range one, they are ready way quicker. you may think this is a waste of money but it is totaly worth it as it saves you time and energy and is wayyyy cheaper than going to a salon everytime!!!

Chances are rare! I have been playing piano for 30 years and never had that happened before. There are a couple times when I played on old pianos with cracked keys, it hurt my finger's skin.
I wouldn't worry about nails hooked between the keys.
However, I do recommend doing some kinds of stretching for arms or fingers if you practice piano extensively. There are many cases where pianists hurt their fingers or arms when playing highly technical passages.
it gets hooked on the piano A LOT! cause im lazy to cut my nails and they look nicer when they're long. my teacher use to say i would be scratching the piano this way, but it isn't true. cause i tried it. it gets frustrating at times when you are playing halfway and you get a sudden shock when your nails get stuck and it's really painful for real long nails.but you had better cut yours short.my 12th year playing that nail torture instrument.

I played for 25 years and everyday I'm paranoid about getting my nails caught between keys. So I kept mine very short. If you don't think it's possible, try playing some Chopin Etudes (I recommend the Winter Wind). I guarantee you'll get your nails caught and bleed all over the keyboard.
