How can i cut my dogs nails?

my dog will not let any one cut her nails, me, the groomers and not the vets. the vets say to sadate her wicth of course cost money i dont have. help. How can i cut my dogs nails?
First, build a report with her. When you are playing, touch her paws. Get more bold as you go, reassuring her that nothing is bad about it. Get her on her belly and play with her paws and toenails. It's really just a matter of getting her used to being held that way. Once you get her used to this, start picking at her nails with your fingers. This will desensitize (sp) her. After a while, you should be able to get this done. It's a matter of control. Then, get a set of STEEL nail clippers. Cut the nails at a right angle to the nail in small (1/4 inch) increments. Do not go up to the quick (where the nail changes color). This has probably been done before. It is painful to the dog and may be the reason the dog won't let you now. You should purchase a styptic pencil to stop any bleeding. Go slow, use small incrememnts and follow the directions on back of the package. You may have to hold the dog and clip two or three nails at a time. Once you're done, get the dog out and exercise it! A 1/2 mile walk every day on pavement should keep them in check. Good Luck, You'll do great. How can i cut my dogs nails?
I have a dog that hates the nail clippers I have found that filing her nails with a dremel works better. I have no idea why but it might work for you too.

I use a small dremel that is cordless with a regular sand paper bit just touch the tips of the nail and it smooths it and takes the tip offwith out the pressure of clipping.
Take your dog to a groom shop.
I usually cut small bits off at a time with black nailed dogs. Usually when you get close enough there is a shiny-like soft dot in the center, if you go a little at a time you will see it before you cut the quick. If you do cut the quick there is a product that you can buy at the pet stores called Kwik Stop Styptic powder that you can apply to the bleeding end to stop the bleeding. I have cut dog nails for years and every once in a while I will get the quick, you can't be perfect every time. If you still have questions ask your vet to demonstrate nail trimming. Its easy once you get used to it and it saves money if you don't have to take your dog in to get it done.
START BY HOLDING HER AND LETTING HER RELAX ON YOUR LAP. ( IF SHE IS A BIG DOG SIT ON THE FLOOR AND IF SHES LITTLE YOU COULD SIT ON THE COUCH) WHEN SHE IS COMPLETELY RELAXED, BETWEEN SLEEP AND AWAKE, TOUCH HER FEET. DONT DO ANY THING THE FIRST DAY, JUST TOUCH. THE NEXT DAY DO THE SAME AND HAVE THE CLIPPER THERE. LET HER SNIFF THEM, LET HER HEAR THEIR SOUND. DO THE SAME FOR A WEEK AND ON THE EIGHTH DAY, TRY CLIPPING A FEW. IF SHE LETS YOU DO 'EM ALL. IF NOT, DO WHAT YOU CAN DO SAFELY, AND TRY AGAIN THE NEXT DAY. DONT EVER STOP MASSAGING HER FEET. KEEP ON DOING IT EVEN AFTER HER NAILS ARE CLIPPED AND THE NEXT TIME WILL BE EASIER.
If the dog trusts you maybe you could try a very fine exacto saw. Yes a hobby saw. I had a dog that was abused for three years before I got him. The clippers would never work,so I tried the saw. At first it was one maybe two nails before he had enough. Hold the nail firmly so that the nail does not rock back and forth. 3 to 6 strokes and one is done.
