A regular vet should be fine.

I cut them myself but a few times I cut too far into the quick and it bled a bit. But it didn't damge the toe as far as I know. It won't bleed to death. If you cut the end of the toe, then you have a little problem.

When I'm not comfortable with clipping the toenails myself I take them to the normal vet and they do it for me.

Nails should be cut when they are about 3cm long? Otherwise they get twisted and obstruct the guinea pigs walking and gripping.

To minimize the amount you clip there claws give them different surfaces to wear down there claws, like dirt and rocks and rough surfaces for them to walk on when they feel the need to.

If you don't clip there nails regularly the quick will grow longer, making it hard to determine where to cut.

But you can't always see the quick, alot of guinea pigs have black nails and skin, so its very hard to find the quick.Do i need an exotic vet to get my guinea pigs nails trimmed?
Any vet can do this for you, but maybe check your pet store, I used to get my guinea pig's nails cut at the local pet store for half of what it would cost me to visit a vet. I am now comfortable cutting them myself, and eventually you may be comfortable enough too. Pedi paws is for thicker nails like that of a cat or dog, do not use them on your guinea pig, they wouldn't appretiate the vibrations it gives off either.
At first, I was nervous to clip my guinea pig's nails, so had a vet do it. It was free.

I was not comfortable either with this, so I sanitized baby nail clippers and used those, which are easy to grasp and easy to cut. As long as you dont cut the quick, or the red part growing out into the white part, you will be fine. If you do cut the cut (minorly) dip the piggie's affected foot into some white flour.

You can also place some flat rocks in your guinea pig's cage so they can file their nails naturally. Good Luck!
No, a normal vet should do it.

If you want to do it yourself, don't use those guinea pig nails SCISSORS, instead use regular human toenail clippers. (scissors twist the nail which can be painful.)

Some guinea pigs don't need their nails trimmed! 7 of mine have never had their nails trimmed, and they get nice and short from just running around in the cage. But I do have one that's nails get very curly and long.

This webbie is very handy, as it tells you where to cut the nails =)

You do need an exotic vet. I know where to get one!

Get a time machine, and go back to the time of the ancient Inca. Of course, you will need to live there for a while, and learn their language. Once you learn their language, try to ask them to trim the pests nails... By pest, I mean pet. Try to avoid offering the actual animal to the people, because they will eat it :D
No. I cut my guinea pig's nails all the time. You just make sure not to go to the part thats a different color. Cause if you do then they'll bleed to death. And if you are paranoid then get this powder that makes the finger stop bleeding.
no just a vet that is comfortable with small animals

don't use pedi paws or ur GP will end up with no feet at all as often as other pets
Just do it yourself. It's easy, just don't cut the red. Only the white nail.
i dont think dancing is the answer, especially exotic, you should get a certified nail clipper instead
A regular vet and some groomers can help you with that.
