Well damaged nails are like damaged hair. But you can probably make it better by keep it moisturized. How do you repair your nails after acrylics?
Weird. I asked this a couple of days ago! What someone suggested to me was to use a nail buffer, I tried it and it works pretty good!
keep clear polish on them, keep them very short (so they don't split and bend... yuck!!), and wait until they grow out... it took my nails about 3 months to get back to regular. seriously, it sucked.
soak them in extra virgin olive oil with a teaspoon of sea salt.

The sea salt will dry out the rough skin and exfoliate it off and the olive oil retains moisture and makes cuticles soft and smooth.
