If you get acrylic nails put on can you fill them in with the pink and white kind? or do u have 2 start over?

also what is the difference bettween pink and white nails and just the pink ones?If you get acrylic nails put on can you fill them in with the pink and white kind? or do u have 2 start over?
When done properly, Pink %26amp; Whites (AKA Solar Nails, Permanent French, Forever French) are filled once every 2-3 weeks. This is determined by how fast your nails grow, and whether there is lifting of the acrylic. If your nails are lifting, its better to have that corrected as soon as possible before the problem gets worse.

Then there is something called a backfill (Or, rebalance if you want to get technical!) which needs to be done every other time that you get a fill. This includes the tech not only performing a regular 'fill', but it also includes removing a good portion of the 'white' and some of the 'pink' as well, and reapplying it in its proper position. You see, as your nail grows out, so does the nail enhancement. And that means that the white extension will grow out as well. Eventually, it will have grown out too far, and will need to be reapplied in the proper position on the nail. Also during a rebalance, the apex (or stress point) is also rebuilt. If you look at a properly formed nail from the side, you should notice that it is at a low point around the cuticle area, and the height increases, and peaks at the point there your free edge of your natural nail begins, then tapers off at the tip. When a nail is done correctly it should have a high spot on it right at this area that I just described. Well, as your nail grows out, so will the apex -along with the extension. So, as part of the rebalance, the apex is filed down, and rebuilt in its proper position on the nail. This will take longer than a fill, and will cost more because it takes a lot more work.

So, to answer your question: No, you do not need to start over. However, doing a rebalance takes skill, and a lot of techs lack the skills necessary to do a rebalance - and do it right.. Some even lack the skills necessary to do a simpe fill. And these same unskilled techs will remove your acrylic nails and start with a new full set. This is totally unnecessary. If your tech wants to do that, I would suggest finding a tech who is more skilled, and has more experience than the one that you go to now.

And the difference between the pink, and the white? Not a thing except for the color. They are both acrylics. Be aware that salons will often try to sell you on Solar Nails. They try to make it seem as though they are some new kind of nail product thats better than anything else. This is not true. Solar nails are made from the very same liquid and powders as a regular set of acrylic nails. They are not anything new, nor is there anything special about the products. Its the same acrylic that they always use. Plain and simple...

I hope this helps!
