How do I trim my chinchillas nails?

her nails are growing, and i'm not sure how to go about trimming them. they are different from rats, and guinea pig. could i use a human nail clipper or would having a vet do it be the best thing. How do I trim my chinchillas nails?
With hundreds and hundreds of chins, over 9 years time, I have never had a single nail trimmed. It's just not really necessary in most cases. They do have a bit of nail, because they can scratch, but they don't grow like a rabbits nails do.

Do you have a solid surface running wheel for her? That helps wear them down some. You can also buy stone or lava ledges for her to jump on that would help as well.

If you do take her to a vet to have them trimmed, be careful that the vet knows what they are doing and don't harm the chins toes. It takes very little to snip a toe off, as you can barely see the nails on the toe.How do I trim my chinchillas nails?
the best idea is to take your chinchilla's nails to the vet.

the second, is to take them to a pet store.

-i took my rabbit in for her nails cuz it was getting too long, and they cut her's for FREE.

third, you could prolly buy one of the pet nail clippers, and hold your pet and clip.
Never take your animal to a pet store for any kind of care or advice...

The best thing to do would be take her to a vet. They can tell you if it even needs to be done in the first place, and if so, they can do it and show you how to do it on your own in the future.
I have bred chinchillas for 7 years and never had to clip any nails. It's not necessary to clip a chinchillas nails. As mentioned before, lava ledges help keep them warn down.
you should take her to the vet to have them cut. You could also take her to a pet store to get it done.
