What is your opinion of acrylic nails?

three questions actually- do you notice if a person has acrylic nails? do you like the colored tips, or french tips? What is you overall like or dislike of them? What is your opinion of acrylic nails?
I think acrylic nails are amazing... they look gorgeous and stay on for a while... the only down side is that when they come off you will have little indents on your nails but it doesn't hurt them and it helps your nails grow... really consider it... you can get the white tips or the clear ones... the clear ones you can paint over and things like that... i like the white tips cause its like a french manicure but your nails are magically long. they are amazing!! nobody will ever say OMG you have acyrlic nails... people usuqally just compliment them on how nice they look... thats itWhat is your opinion of acrylic nails?
I think its ok.

its not natural, and can damage your nail bed, but it looks cute...

i know that shouldnt be an excuse for damaging your body but that's the main reason why females do it.

It does look tacky when it starts to grow out.

All in all, i think it is ok to have them if you take care of your nails.
when their short with a neutral color they look natural when their long they dont look natural but people really dont pay attention to that stuff
They look nice, but I think they are nasty. You will carry a lot of bacteria on them.
If you do them right, french tip look really nice....
They are ugly plastic things. A French manicure on your natural nail is pretty and least expensive to look after
Im 16 and im going to the salon for the first time today after school to get a set of acrylic fingernails. Most of the girls i know who have them i cant tell they are acrylic. I prefer french tips and or colored tips.

bottom line it depends were u get ur nails done. when i first started putting them on this one shop did them were you could tell but the place i go to now do such a good job that they look natural and people think they are my nails and i always change from a white tip, french tip, or clear. i personally would recommend the white tip. The nails are great if you go to a great shop but if you go to a not so good place they can make you regret getting them. so i would just recommend if you plan on getting them to do your research and see results of recent clients of where you plan to go. or if you have friends who have gone see who they recommend. Overall it all depends were you go because i have seen great nail jobs and i have seen crappy ones and it all comes down to the shop. So research which shop in your town is good at doing nails and talk to them about how you want it to look natural and no obvious you have them.
I love them! And personally I don't really notice it that much, unless I'm looking at a person's nails and notice they're all of a sudden long. And french tips look really classy and will match any occasion so I would go with that. Also, nail polish doesn't chip or peel as easily with acrylic nails.
I love acrylic nails, because they have a more uniformed look, not like natural nails that could be many different lenghts. I usually got for the french tip, it's more classy. My only dislike about them is when they break they hurt!
I used to have them when I was younger, but I got over it. I think they look tacky on 99.9% of the women that have them on. They're annoying and you get crap stuck under them all the time and if one breaks off, you're effed. I'm much more fond of painted finger nails.
You can notice them if they are not done right. I like the colored tips and the french tips.
I can always tell when someone has acrylic nails. They can be done well and look nice, but they never look real. They totally destroy your real nail too, so if you want to take them off then you have to just let your whole nail underneath grow out before it looks right again. Also it's very easy to get a fungus underneath of them as sometimes water can get under the nail and it just sits. They are also hard to scratch with because they are very blunt.
