They do not grow a significant amount in a day. It also depends on the person, but drinking milk and using polish that says it helps nail growth and strength will help.

I don't think you would be able to measure it, the amount would be too tiny. Fingernails grow completely from cuticle to tip in about 6 months.
i know they grow 10cm a year

I found a site that charts one person's fingernail growth over a long period of time. This person found that over 500 days, fingernail growth ';remained quite steady at 0.1 mm/day, or 3.7 cm/year.';





The site also mentions an article from the San Francisco Examiner which states that fingernails, on average, grow about one nanometer per second.
